Head Coach, Boris Bajagic, has international experience as a professional
soccer player in Europe. Boris has successfully made the difficult
transition from player to coach, with a particular passion for coaching
youth teams. Boris demands dedication, teamwork and discipline from
his players on and off the field, as well as in their academic studies.
Boris sets high standards for the team and, over the years. the
team has responded with a solid record of success in increasingly
competitive environments.
Boris has been coaching soccer for over twenty years, including
seventeen years of youth soccer. He has coached internationally
in Singapore, Malaysia and Yugoslavia. He was the first coach of
the OZ Wizards, Ottawa's men professional soccer team in the CPSL.
He has been coaching competitive youth soccer with the Hotspurs
for eight years, and holds a Provincial "B" coaching license.
Coach Norm Keddo, a life-long soccer player himself, has been actively
involved with youth soccer in Ottawa for twelve years. In addition
to coaching at the competitive level for over nine years, Norm has
been active in the administration of the Hotspurs as the discipline,
youth, and development director as well as serving as vice president.
Currently Norm is President of the Nepean Hotspurs Soccer Club.
Norm's patience and teaching skills have earned the respect of the
players.
Coach Duane Barker was a former Hotspurs player himself until he
switched his passion for sport over to American football. He progressed
to play football for the University of Ottawa and returned to his
soccer roots when his football career came to a close. He has been
coaching competitive youth teams for eight years and currently helps
the team with its physical fitness and training. Motivated by the
fact that he learns "something new everyday on the pitch",
Duane aspires to earn his Provincial B license and to continue to
coach and play.
Team manager Nancy Zahavich is a Chartered Accountant and handles
the team's financial responsibilities and assists the coaches with
logistical arrangements.
