Congratulations to the Nepean Hotspurs Dynasty !!!
The Nepean Hotspurs Dynasty finish the 2003 indoor soccer season
in first place for Boys Under 17, and second place for Under 16.
To maximize time on the pitch for each player, the Dynasty (all
of which qualify for under16 status), entered two squads for 2002/3
indoor league play, one of which competed in the in the older U17
group. The main objective of this indoor season was to further hone
the boy's technical and tactical skills in preparation for the demands
of Ontario Youth League competition this summer. The "Dynasty"
played two tough games at the seasonal league playoffs on Sunday
March 30th, finishing first in the U17 final- beating Nepean City
in a shoot-out.
This caps another successful indoor season, with aggregated statistics
(both U16 & U17): 24W, 2 T, 3L, with 166 goals for and 49 goals
against. The top goal scorers for the Dynasty during this indoor
season were: Alessandro Citrullo, Semir Hadziresic, Danijel Sredic,
Samuel Walker and Robert Bonanno. Strong contributions were also
made by Robert Barker (captian), Jordan Keddo, Adam Sarumi, and
Srdjan Bajagic (goalkeeper). Exceptional talent was also demonstrated
by the two youngest members of the squad; Mike McTaggart and Sam
McHugh (both 15).
The teams' sights are now set for the summer season, with outdoor
training to start in May. The team will be the Ottawa U16 representatives
for the 2003 OYSL (Ontario Youth Soccer) league- which is the highest
level of youth league play in the Province of Ontario. From this
point forward the team will be known as the "Nepean Hotspurs
Dynasty".
